Tell us a little about yourself.
I have been writing and making up stories for as long as I can remember. In elementary school I had a series about the many adventures of a “Queen Alicia” and her nameless husband “the King.”
When I’m not writing, I can probably be found outside enjoying nature, reading, or hanging out with my cats and loved ones. I also enjoy equestrian sports and archery whenever I get the chance!
Where does your inspiration come from in your books?
I feel my inspiration comes from a conglomeration of things. It can be anything from music, to movies, to nature, to simply life experiences. Of course, I’ve been influenced by my beloved authors such as Tolkien, C.S. Lewis, J.K. Rowling, Jane Austen, L.M. Montgomery, Kristen Britain, and Elizabeth Haydon.
I feel my writing is a mix of humorous, light-hearted adventure with very traditional fantasy and a touch of satire...and, of course, romance! So, it’s hard to pinpoint exactly where my inspiration came from!
How many books have you written? Which is your favorite?
So far, I have written and published one book, Remnants of Magic. I’m currently working on its sequel, Pinnacle of Magic. When completed they will be only a two-volume series. But there is certainly a chance that one of my supporting characters will get a book of his own (See below; do you think he’s worthy of his own backstory being told?) Favorite? I think it will probably be Pinnacle of Magic. I feel as if it’ll deliver a walloping punch, if I can so for myself. Plus, my writing has matured a great deal.
Do you have a favorite character that you have written? If so, who? What makes them so special?
I believe I do have a favorite character (well, I actually have three, but I’ll pick one for here). His name is Kheane, also known as the Cold Wolf. He is from a rare race of men that are “blessed” with long life. I believe he is about three hundred years old. He’s an ex-assassin (he’s trying to redeem himself for the blood he has on his hands). He’s special because he always survives…and he’s found the strength and courage to change for the better. When he was only sixteen, he escaped his country which was being torn a part by a civil war. He stowed away across the sea to a new land, where he found himself begging on the streets only to be taken in by the Order, an infamous assassin’s guild located in the cold, far northern regions… A little secret about his character is that he is my ode to the band Keane. Love them.
What can we expect from you in the future?
You can of course expect volume II someday. I promise I’ll get there! Also, be on the lookout for the audio book of Remnants of Magic. I’m hoping it will be available by the New Year. I am very excited for this. My narrator, Naomi Rose-Mock, is amazing!!
